  • Branch Postmaster (BPM): TRCA Rs. 12,000/- to 29,380/- with annual increase of 3% (subject to conditions), plus Dearness Allowance on TRCA and eligibility for GDS Gratuity and Service Discharge Benefit Scheme.
  • Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak: TRCA Rs. 10,000/- to 24,470/- with annual increase of 3% (subject to conditions), plus Dearness Allowance on TRCA and eligibility for GDS Gratuity and Service Discharge Benefit Scheme.
  • Stage 1 – Merit List Generation: Selection is entirely merit-based, computed from the candidate’s Class 10 (SSE) academic record. Merit list is prepared from marks obtained (or grades/points converted to marks) in the Secondary School Examination, aggregated to a percentage up to 4 decimal places.
  • Stage 2 – Shortlist Processing: Applicants are shortlisted on the basis of the system-generated merit list. Tie-breaking follows priority order based on date of birth (older preferred) followed by category and gender combinations.
  • Stage 3 – Physical Verification and Engagement: Shortlisted candidates must undergo physical verification of original documents by the Engaging Authority, followed by offer of provisional engagement, pre-engagement formalities (including 3 days basic training), and final regularization after document verification.
  • Visit the GDS Online Engagement Portal at https://indiapost.gov.in/gdsonlineengagement and read the notification carefully.
  • Complete One-Time Registration (OTR) using a valid mobile number and email ID (verified via OTP), entering personal details and Class 10 board/year of passing information to generate a unique Registration Number.
  • Log in using the Registration Number and password, then click “Apply Online” under the “Active Notification” tab.
  • Fill in Personal Details, Board/Educational Details (Circle, Board Name, passing year, marks obtained), and select Division and post preferences.
  • Upload a recent photograph (JPG/JPEG, 30-100 KB, 320×400 px, 4:5 aspect ratio) and signature (JPG/JPEG, 20-100 KB, 300×120 px, 5:2 aspect ratio) as per prescribed specifications.
  • Preview the application and make corrections before final submission.
  • Pay the applicable fee (if not exempted) through available online payment modes within 10 minutes of initiating payment.
  • Submit the application on or before 21 September 2026 (1700 hrs), and use the edit/correction window (23-24 September 2026) if corrections are needed.
