- Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.
- Qualification Cut-off Date: The candidate must possess proof of passing the qualifying examination as on 01/07/2026.

- Pay Scale: Rs. 36,290-2,115(1)-38,405-2,310(2)-43,025-2,600(5)-56,025-3,005(2)-62,035-3,660(3)-73,015-3,800(2)-80,615-4,050(5)-1,00,865.
- Initial Gross Emoluments: Approximately Rs. 53,000 per month in a metro city. Allowances may vary according to the place of posting.

NICL Assistant Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Phase I Preliminary Examination: English Language with 30 questions, Reasoning Ability with 35 questions and Quantitative Aptitude with 35 questions. The examination will contain a total of 100 questions for 100 marks and will have a duration of 60 minutes.
- Stage 2 – Phase II Main Examination: The examination will include Reasoning, English Language, Numerical Ability, General Awareness and Computer Knowledge. It will contain a total of 200 questions for 200 marks and will have a duration of 120 minutes.
- Negative Marking: One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for every wrong answer in both online examinations.
- Stage 3 – Regional Language Test: Candidates shortlisted after the Main Examination must qualify the Regional Language Test of the State/UT applied for. Final merit will be prepared State-wise and category-wise based on Main Examination marks, subject to qualifying the Regional Language Test.
