AVNL Recruitment 2026: Exam Pattern
The written exam is a single Computer Based Test (CBT), objective multiple-choice type, for a maximum of 100 marks, with no negative marking.

Part A questions are up to 10th Standard level for Junior Technician posts, and Graduate level for all other posts. Total time allowed for the written exam is 2 hours. Written exam weightage is 100% for Junior Technician posts and 85% for Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, and Deputy Manager posts. There is no written exam (CBT) for Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, and Consultant posts.
AVNL Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
Junior Technician posts: CBT, followed by a qualifying Trade Test (Practical) at the respective AVNL unit. Merit is decided solely on Written Test marks; the Trade Test syllabus is per Annexure-A of the official notification.
Junior Manager, Assistant Manager, Deputy Manager posts: CBT, followed by an Interview (50 marks, 15% weightage) assessing technical knowledge, prior work experience, initiative, and decision-making. Merit is decided on combined Written Exam and Interview performance.
Senior Manager, Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, Consultant posts: No written CBT. Candidates are assessed through Presentation, Experience, Expertise, Knowledge, and Interview, conducted at AVNL CO, Avadi.
Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for Interview (other than Junior Technicians) or Trade Test (Junior Technicians) in a post:candidate ratio of 1:3 in order of merit within each category; the final ratio will be decided by AVNL management based on the number of qualifying candidates.
Names of candidates shortlisted for CBT, Interview, or Trade Test, and final selections, will be notified on the AVNL website.
AVNL Recruitment 2026: Test Centres
The CBT will be held at: Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jabalpur, Nagpur, Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Kanpur. Candidates must indicate their preferred test centre in the online application form. AVNL reserves the right to modify, add, or cancel test centres depending on the number of eligible applicants; affected candidates will be assigned a new centre.

Class X passing certificate/marksheet, PAN Card, and Aadhaar Card for name and date-of-birth proof (name and DOB must match across all documents)
Caste/disability certificate (for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD/EWS candidates), as applicable
Trade Apprentice Training Certificate (for Ex-Trade Apprentices of AVNL)
OBC-NCL certificate in central format for the current financial year (FY 2026-27)
EWS candidates: current-year Income & Asset certificate (valid for FY 2026-27, based on FY 2025-26 income)
Disability certificate as per the latest prescribed central government format, generated via the Swavalamban/UDID portal, clearly indicating type and percentage of disability

Step 1: Registration
Visit the AVNL website and click the “Careers” tab at avnl.co.in
Go to Career – “Register”
Fill in Post name, Post Code (auto-selected), Name, Mobile Number, and Email ID
Generate OTP, enter Captcha, and submit
Enter the OTP received
Accept Terms & Conditions via the “I Agree” checkbox, then click re-verify
Select the checkboxes confirming entered values are correct, enter Captcha for re-verification, and submit registration details
Receive the Registration Number, Login ID, and Password on the registered Email/Mobile
Step 2: Filling the Application Form & Fee Payment
Click “Go to Application” or log in again with the Login ID and Password
Fill in the complete application form
Upload photograph, signature, and required documents (DOB proof, Proof of Educational Qualification, Category Certificate, Apprenticeship Training Certificate, PwBD/Ex-Servicemen proof, if applicable)
Preview the application form before submission
Edit details if required (Name, Post Applied, Email ID, and Mobile Number cannot be changed once submitted)

Step 3: Fee Payment
