- Police Constable Male: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and +2 from a recognized Institution, School or Board.
- Police Constable Female: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and +2 from a recognized Institution, School or Board.
- Himachal Pradesh Education Condition: Candidates must have passed Matriculation and +2 from an Institution, School or Board situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachali candidates.
- Male General/EWS Physical Standard: Minimum height 5 feet 6 inches and chest measurement 31 inches without expansion and 32 inches with expansion.

Himachal Pradesh Police Constable Recruitment 2026 Salary
- Police Constable Male: Pay Band Level-3, Rs. 20,200-64,000.

HP Police Constable Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Physical Test: The Physical Test will consist of the Physical Standard Test and Physical Efficiency Test conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department.
- Male Physical Efficiency Test: 1500-metre race in 5 minutes 30 seconds, high jump of 1.35 metres, 100-metre race in 14 seconds and broad jump of 4 metres.
- Female Physical Efficiency Test: 800-metre race in 3 minutes 45 seconds, high jump of 1.10 metres, 100-metre race in 17 seconds and broad jump of 3 metres.
- Stage 2 – Written Examination: Physically qualified candidates will appear in an offline objective-type examination of two hours. The examination will contain 90 multiple-choice questions for 90 marks and will be based on the +2 standard.
- Negative Marking: One-fourth or 0.25 mark will be deducted for an incorrect answer. Candidates who do not want to answer a question must mark option “E”; leaving a question completely blank will also attract negative marking.
- Stage 3 – Evaluation and Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted through the Physical Test and Written Examination will be called for document verification. Marks for valid NCC certificates will also be awarded at this stage.
- Stage 4 – Medical Examination: The medical examination will be conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Police Department.
- Stage 5 – Final Merit List: The final merit will be prepared out of 100 marks, including 90 marks for the written examination, 6 marks for height and 4 marks for the NCC certificate.
