- Stage 1 – Written Examination

Exam Pattern
- Preliminary Examination: 120 objective questions in 2 hours – General Studies 30, Jharkhand State Knowledge 60, General Mathematics 10, General Science 10 and Mental Ability 10.
- Main Examination: Three papers, each of 2 hours. Every question carries 3 marks and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
- Paper 1 (Language Knowledge): Hindi Language Knowledge – 60 questions and English Language Knowledge – 60 questions.
- Paper 2 (Regional/ Tribal Language Knowledge): 100 objective questions in one selected language from Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bengali, Mundari, Ho, Kharia, Kurukh, Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia or Sanskrit.
