NCL Apprentice Vacancy 2026 Selection Process

• The selection process will be carried out strictly on the basis of merit determined from qualifying examination marks, followed by document verification and a mandatory medical examination. No written examination shall be conducted by NCL for this recruitment process.
• Stage 1 – Merit List Preparation : For Graduate and Diploma Apprentices, the merit list shall be prepared based on marks obtained in the qualifying Graduation/Diploma examination. In the case of ITI Trade Apprentices, merit shall be determined on the basis of the average percentage of marks obtained in Matriculation and the relevant National/State Trade Certificate examination. Candidates will be arranged in descending order of merit. In the event of a tie, preference shall be given to the older candidate based on date of birth, followed by alphabetical order of names.
• Stage 2 – Document Verification : Candidates shortlisted on the basis of merit shall be required to appear for document verification with all original certificates and supporting documents. The schedule, venue, and other details shall be communicated through the official NCL website, the NATS/NAPS portal, or registered email ID. Failure to appear within the prescribed date and time, or inability to produce valid documents, shall result in cancellation of candidature.
• Stage 3 – Medical Examination Selection for Apprenticeship Training shall be subject to qualifying the prescribed medical fitness standards under the Mines Rules, 1955. Candidates must submit a Medical Fitness Certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure-3), issued by a Medical Officer of a Government Hospital not below the rank of Assistant Civil Surgeon. The certificate must be issued only after the release date of this notification.

Who Should NOT Apply for NCL Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026–27?

The following categories of candidates are not eligible to apply for the NCL Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026–27:

• Candidates who have already completed Apprenticeship Training earlier or are currently undergoing Apprenticeship Training in any industry.
• Candidates having one year or more of work experience.
• Candidates who passed their qualifying Degree, Diploma, or ITI examination prior to June 2022.
• Candidates possessing qualifications higher than the prescribed qualification for the discipline applied for.
• Candidates whose qualifying institution is not functional and operational in the states of Uttar Pradesh or Madhya Pradesh.
• Candidates who obtained their qualification through Part-time, Correspondence, or Distance Learning mode.
• OBC candidates belonging to the Creamy Layer category.
• Candidates submitting multiple applications. Submission of more than one application shall result in disqualification.
• Candidates unable to produce a valid Medical Fitness Certificate as prescribed under the Mines Rules, 1955.

How to Apply NCL Apprentice Trainee Online Form 2026–27?

Candidates are required to apply online mode only for the NCL Apprentice Trainee Recruitment 2026–27.

Candidates applying for Graduate and Diploma Apprenticeship must first register on the NATS portal, while candidates applying for Trade/ITI Apprenticeship must register on the NAPS portal. Upon successful registration, an Enrolment ID/Registration Number will be generated, which shall be required to apply for the respective NCL apprenticeship position through the concerned portal.

Documents/Details Required for Online Application

Candidates should keep the following documents and information ready before filling out the online application form:

• Valid NATS/NAPS Enrolment ID (Registration Reference Number).
• Scanned recent colour photograph and scanned signature in black ink, as per prescribed portal specifications.
• Date of Birth as mentioned in the Matriculation/10th certificate.
• Academic details, including total marks obtained and maximum marks in the qualifying Degree/Diploma/ITI Trade examination.
• Valid category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) in the prescribed format (Annexure-1), wherever applicable.
• Disability certificate for PwBD candidates as per the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2017 (Annexure-2), if applicable.
• Correspondence address and permanent residential address.

Candidates are advised to carefully verify all details before final submission and preserve both a hard copy and soft copy of the submitted application form for future reference. Applications submitted through offline mode, post, or any paper-based process shall not be accepted.
