Educational Qualification
- Local Bank Officer (LBO): Candidate should possess a Graduate degree in any discipline from a University or Institution recognized or approved by the Government of India or its regulatory bodies. The candidate must possess a valid mark sheet or degree certificate confirming graduate status on the date of online registration and must enter the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation.
Experience, Local Language and Application Requirements
- Post-Qualification Experience: Candidate must possess a minimum of one year of post-qualification work experience in Clerical or Officer Cadre in a Scheduled Commercial Bank or Regional Rural Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The experience must be counted after completion of Graduation and must be available as on 09/08/2026.
- Local-Language Requirement: Candidate must be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the mandatory local language of the state for which the application is submitted. Candidates who have not studied that language as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12 will be required to qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test.
- Application Restriction: A candidate may apply for a vacancy in only one state. Applying for more than one state is not permitted.

PNB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026 Salary
- Local Bank Officer (LBO): Rs. 48,480-2,000/7-62,480-2,340/2-67,160-2,680/7-85,920 under Junior Management Grade Scale-I.
- In addition to Basic Pay, selected candidates will be entitled to Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance or leased accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance, retirement benefits and other perquisites according to Bank rules.
- Eligible selected candidates having prior completed service as an Officer in a Scheduled Commercial Bank may receive one advance increment for each completed year of eligible service, subject to a maximum of two increments and fulfilment of the prescribed job-profile conditions.
PNB Local Bank Officer Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Online Written Test
- Stage 2 – Screening of Application and Documents
- Stage 3 – Local Language Proficiency Test, wherever applicable
- Stage 4 – Personal Interview
The Online Written Test consists of Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis and Interpretation, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and General/Economy/Banking Awareness. One-fourth of the marks assigned to a question will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Candidates who studied the prescribed local language as a subject in Class 10 or Class 12 may be exempted from the Local Language Proficiency Test, subject to submission of valid documentary evidence.
Final selection will be based on combined performance in the Online Written Test and Personal Interview, subject to qualifying the Local Language Proficiency Test wherever applicable. The final merit list will be prepared state-wise and category-wise.
