- Trade Apprentice (ITI): ITI passed in the respective notified trade from a Government-recognized institute.
- Diploma Apprentice: Diploma in the relevant notified discipline from a Government-recognized institute or university.
- Graduate/Degree Apprentice: Degree in the relevant notified discipline from a Government-recognized institute or university.
- Additional Eligibility Conditions: The qualifying examination must have been completed as a regular candidate in 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 or 2026. Results must be declared by the last date. Candidates who have already undergone, are undergoing apprenticeship training, or have one year of job experience are not eligible.

SAIL RSP Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Salary
- Trade Apprentice (General Trades): Rs. 10,560 per month or as per the prescribed rates of MSDE, Government of India.
- Trade Apprentice (COPA and Welder): Rs. 9,600 per month or as per the prescribed rates of MSDE, Government of India.
- Graduate Apprentice (Degree): Rs. 12,300 per month or as per prescribed rates; 50% is paid by RSP and 50% by BOPT under DBT mode.
- Technician Apprentice (Diploma): Rs. 10,900 per month or as per prescribed rates; 50% is paid by RSP and 50% by BOPT under DBT mode.
- Training Benefits: The apprenticeship duration is one year. RSP will not provide accommodation or travel allowance during training.
SAIL RSP Apprentice Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Online registration and application on the applicable NAPS/NATS portal.
- Stage 2 – Trade/branch-wise walk-in and document verification at Rourkela Steel Plant.
- Stage 3 – Academic merit shortlisting with 30% weightage to Class X marks and 70% weightage to Degree/Diploma/ITI marks, as applicable.
- Stage 4 – Final engagement is subject to vacancy availability and medical fitness under the Apprentices Act, 1961.

- For Trade (ITI) Apprentice posts, register as a candidate on apprenticeshipindia.org.
- Log in to the apprenticeship portal, open Apprenticeship Opportunity, search Establishment Name “SAIL ROURKELA STEEL PLANT” and apply for the relevant trade.
- For Diploma/Degree Apprentice posts, register as a student on nats.education.gov.in.
- Log in to NATS, open Establishments Requests, choose Find Establishments, select “Steel Authority of India Limited, Rourkela Steel Plant” and apply in the passed-out branch.
- Use an active email ID and mobile number valid for at least one year, and ensure the bank account is DBT-enabled with KYC verified.

- Complete the portal application on or before 26 August 2026 and take a printout of the submitted application.
- Attend the walk-in on the scheduled trade/branch date between 9:30 AM and 10:30 AM at Central Recreation Room, Trainees’ Hostel, Sector-5, Rourkela-769002, District Sundargarh, Odisha.
- Carry the original Institution Leaving Certificate; self-attested Matriculation, Provisional Pass, category/PH certificates; Aadhaar Card/Bank Passbook; Government hospital Medical Fitness Certificate; and NAPS/NATS registration copy.
- Applications without prior portal registration and the required apply action will not be accepted. Incomplete or erroneous applications will be rejected.
- The selected candidates’ joining date and venue will be communicated through email only. Apprenticeship does not guarantee regular employment at RSP.
