- Project Scientific Officer (Mechanical): B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Officer (Computer Science): B.E./B.Tech. in Computer Science/Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Officer (Instrumentation & Control): B.E./B.Tech. in Instrumentation & Control or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Assistant (Mechanical): Three-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Assistant (Electrical): Three-year Diploma in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Assistant (Electronics/Electronics & Communication): Three-year Diploma in Electronics or Electronics & Communication Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Assistant (Instrumentation & Control): Three-year Diploma in Instrumentation & Control or Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering with a minimum of 60% marks.
- Project Scientific Assistant (Physics): B.Sc. in Physics.

Note:
- All qualifications must be from UGC-recognized Indian universities or AICTE-approved institutes/boards. Applicants with foreign qualifications must submit an equivalency certificate from UGC/AIU.
- For Project Scientific Assistant posts, only candidates with a three-year Diploma will be considered.
- Candidates with higher qualifications than those prescribed for Post Codes 01 and 02 will be treated as overqualified and will not be screened in.

IPR Recruitment 2026 Salary
- Project Scientific Officer: Rs. 72,930/- per month, consolidated and including HRA.
- Project Scientific Assistant: Rs. 46,020/- per month, consolidated and including HRA.
- Project Administrative Staff: Rs. 25,870/- per month, consolidated and including HRA.
In addition to the above remuneration, a medical scheme facility under the Contributory Health Service Scheme (CHSS), for self only, is admissible. Applicable deductions will be made as per IPR CHSS rules.
IPR Vacancy 2026 Selection Process
- Stage 1 – Scrutiny of online applications based on age, educational qualifications, category certificates, fee receipts and other eligibility criteria.
- Stage 2 – Personal interview for Project Scientific Officer and Project Scientific Assistant posts. A written test may be conducted for screening purposes if required.
- Stage 3 – Written test and computer skill test for Project Administrative Staff.
Documents Required
- A recent passport size colour photograph.
- Proof of age: Date of Birth as recorded in Birth Certificate, Secondary School Leaving Certificate (SSLC), or Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate mentioning DOB.
- Educational mark sheets, certificates, and degrees.
- Experience certificate(s), if any.
- Certificate of caste/community/class in prescribed Govt. of India format (for SC/ST/OBC non-creamy layer/PwBD/EWS/Ex-Serviceman candidates), if applicable.
- Equivalency certificate from UGC/AIU for applicants with foreign qualifications.
- Any other relevant documents.
IPR Important Instructions
- All positions are purely temporary in nature and shall be for a maximum period of three (3) years. The engagement automatically ceases upon expiry of tenure, conferring no right/claim for regular appointment.
- Performance will be reviewed at the end of each year; if found unsatisfactory, appointment may be discontinued.
- Selected candidates will be required to work at Institute for Plasma Research, Bhat, Gandhinagar, Gujarat or its laboratories at GIDC, Sector – 25, Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
- Candidates possessing higher qualification than the ONE prescribed for Post Code 01 & 02 will be treated as over qualified and will not be screened in.
- If an applicant submits multiple applications, the application with the higher “Application ID Number” (latest one) will be considered.
- The written test and / or interview will be conducted in Ahmedabad / Gandhinagar, Gujarat. No TA shall be paid to attend.
- The number of vacancies indicated is provisional and may increase or decrease depending upon actual requirements.
- A wait list of candidates in order of merit will remain valid and operative for one (1) year from the date of final result declaration.
- Addendum / deletion / corrigendum (if any) shall be posted on the Institute’s website only at https://www.ipr.res.in/opportunities/current-opening-recruitment.
- Records of candidates who are not selected shall be preserved only for a period of one year from the date of publication of the list of selected candidates.
- Any dispute arising out of this advertisement shall be subject to the sole jurisdiction of the Courts/Tribunals situated at Gandhinagar / Ahmedabad, Gujarat only.
