  • Constable (GD) Sports Persons: Matriculation or its equivalent from a recognized board.
  • Sports Qualification: Candidates must have participated or won medal(s) in the eligible levels of competition specified in the notification during the period from 01/01/2024 to 01/11/2026.
  • Nationality: Eligible applicants are Indian citizens, including subjects of Nepal and Bhutan, as specified in the notification.
  • Sports Competitions: Eligible achievements include specified International, National, Inter-University and Khelo India competitions, subject to the detailed conditions and marking scheme in the notification.
  • Certificates: Candidates must possess the required educational and sports certificates on the date of recruitment. Candidates without the required certificates are not eligible.
  • Physical Standards: General height standard is 170 cm for males and 157 cm for females. Height relaxations are available for specified categories. Male candidates require 80 cm unexpanded chest with minimum 5 cm expansion. Weight must be proportionate to height and age according to the applicable medical standards.
  • Medical Standards: Minimum distance vision is 6/6 and 6/9 without correction; binocular vision is required. Colour-blind candidates are not eligible. Candidates must not have knock knees, flat foot, varicose veins or squint and must meet the prescribed medical standards.

  • Minimum distance vision 6/6 and 6/9 in both eyes without correction (glasses/lenses not permitted); binocular vision required; colour vision tested by CP III (Ishihara)
  • Colour-blind candidates are not eligible
  • No knock-knees, flat foot, varicose veins, or squint; must be in good mental and bodily health
  • Tattoos: only religious symbols/figures/names permitted, on the left forearm (inner aspect) or dorsum of hands only, sized under ¼ of that body part
  • Stage 1 – Documentation & Identity Verification: Online applications and uploaded certificates are scrutinized, followed by original-document verification and biometric identity verification.
  • Stage 2 – Physical Standard Test (PST) & Sports Trial Test: Candidates qualifying documentation undergo PST. The Sports Trial Test carries 40 marks and is qualifying in nature, with a minimum qualifying requirement of 20 marks. The trial marks are not added to the final merit list.
  • Stage 3 – Merit List, Detailed Medical Examination (DME) & Review Medical Examination (RME): Merit is prepared on the basis of sports achievement marks. Shortlisted candidates undergo DME, while candidates declared medically unfit may undergo RME according to the prescribed procedure.
  • Matriculation/10th class certificate (proof of date of birth)
  • Sports achievement certificate(s), signed by the competent awarding authority (National Federation Secretary, IOA, University Dean of Sports, or SAI, depending on the competition level)
  • OBC certificate (Annexure-III) with Non-Creamy-Layer declaration (Annexure-III(A)), SC/ST certificate (Annexure-IV), or EWS certificate valid for 2025-26 (Annexure-V), as applicable
  • No Objection Certificate (Annexure-II), for candidates in Government service
  • Certificate for height/chest relaxation (Annexure-VI), if claiming this relaxation
  • Domicile certificate issued by local revenue authorities (special format, Annexure-VI(A), for West Pakistani Refugees in J&K/Ladakh)
  • Four latest passport-size photographs (same as used in the online application)
  • These vacancies are not open to physically challenged persons or ex-servicemen
  • Selected candidates must serve a minimum of 10 years in the Force; resigning earlier requires refunding 3 months’ pay/allowances or training cost, whichever is higher
  • No TA/DA is admissible for travel to/from the recruitment venue; candidates should be prepared for a multi-day stay at their own arrangement and cost
  • Possession of mobile phones, firearms, or any gadget at the recruitment venue, impersonation, forged documents, or misbehaviour with recruitment staff leads to cancellation of candidature and possible police/legal action
